Twitter Basics

Every day there are new social media sites popping up! Just when we thought we were getting used to sites like Facebook or Classmates, new ones pop up that become essential to survive in the social media world. (well at least we are made to feel they are essential!)

I wanted to give some insight that will help you navigate your way through some of the clutter. Today we will discuss some of the dynamics for Twitter.

Twitter  is becoming a major force in social media as a “micro-blog” allowing it’s users to “tweet” or post 140 character entries describing, “what are you doing?” Its free and fun to connect with people around the world that have similar interests.

Here is what to expect with Twitter:

• It’s FREE!
• You only need a Username (be creative) and an email address to join .
• As you “tweet” or post, people find you based on what you post!
• When you log in the first time you can customize your twitter page under settings.
• Use the “find people” feature to locate your friends by name, company or even interests.
• Have Fun!
